TGR Board

Hello Fellow TGR Residents and Property Owners:
The TGR POA Board of Directors recently received an inquiry about the use of “game cameras” in our community, apparently being utilized for home and property surveillance and monitoring purposes. The POA believes the use of such cameras is allowed provided the camera owner also owns the property upon which the camera is situated. Cameras of this nature cannot be used on neighboring properties without permission from the adjoining residents and/or property owners (preferably in writing) or on POA-owned property/common areas/reserves. While we appreciate reasonable security precautions being taken by our residents and property owners, we must also be mindful and respectful of ongoing privacy and property rights and concerns of our entire TGR community. Any cameras found on POA/common areas/reserves will be removed, without the POA making any determinations as to ownership. Cameras placed and/or situated upon neighboring properties without permission from the residence or property owners may give rise to trespassing charges in addition to other potential legal remedies, which may include forfeiture of hardware.
The POA respectfully requests that any game, security, and/or monitoring cameras and related hardware installed are done so in full compliance with state and local laws, and with all due regard for the rights and concerns of all TGR residents and property owners. If anyone suspects a camera may be installed in an illegal or prohibited manner, the POA Board recommends calling the Walker County Sheriff’s non-emergency number at 936-435-2400.
In the event any of our residents and/or property owners may have such cameras placed upon on the property of another resident and/or property owner without permission, or on POA property/common areas/reserves, the POA highly encourages you to remove them immediately. Please reach out to any POA Board member if you would like to further discuss or receive any additional clarification and/or information with respect to the matters discussed herein.
Sincerely,
TGR POA Board of Directors
