The Texas Grand Ranch POA Board will be attending the Walker County Commissioners Court on Monday, February 12, 2024 to speak on agenda item 24, the closure of Dipping Vat Road at the precinct line. We intend to thank the county officials for their service and request they vote against closing Dipping Vat, or at the least, delay the vote to allow TGR time to work with the County on a mutually agreeable solution. The viewpoint of the POA Board is that closing Dipping Vat would be harmful to both Texas Grand Ranch and Walker County.
Some of the concerns include:
Delayed emergency services
Single entrance/exit point for our community which contains 42 miles of roads and potentially over 1500 homes when fully built out
Rerouting all traffic to main thoroughfares in TGR could increase maintenance required for those roads
Diminished property values by inadequate entrances for a community our size
Added strain on New Waverly ISD as their school buses utilize Dipping Vat daily
Having Dipping Vat closed for approximately 10 days a year due to flooding is an inconvenience, but closing Dipping Vat permanently would have negative long-term affect.
